My favourite rooms in Sydney

There are many great rooms in Sydney.

23 in the CBD and 6 further out.

Here are my favorites.

(I recommend only ever going with four max of people.

three is a good number and two can also do many rooms

but not all as some puzzles require four people.)

The Cipher Rooms in Newtown is the best place I have been to worldwide.

They have 4 rooms The Marlowe Hotel, Espionage

and The Cabin ( a little creepy but not too bad)

- all fantastic because they put a huge attention to detail, are high quality, have interesting handmade puzzles- every single decoration is usually related to a puzzle.

They are logical, challenging with many very unique puzzles and fun things to do.

Everyone I have met rate Cipher as number 1#.

THE LOST MINE

is my other favourite room because it is sort of like an Indiana Jones type adventure and

has surprising things to do.

It is at Mission in the CBD on Pitt st. and now George St Too.

I found The Lost Mine and The Sacrifice incredible.

There other rooms are really good too- my second favorite is the Vampire Castle,

Dr. M is quite good but a little tacky in places and The Lost Order is

unusual but I found the setting a bit tame and went with 5 people which was too many.

Other people don't like Mission as much as I do.

Expedition

New to Sydney but incredible!!! Interesting themes... very good quality and many interesting things to do.

Worth a mention

Room Eight, Manly

I loved Indisposed - many of their puzzles were really well done...as well as the  theme. Interesting hint system... novel.

The Below are all closed

The Enigma Rooms

Pitt St, Sydney.

Fun and interesting... with a bit of colour- something which a lot of rooms lack. In Memorium had lots and lots of puzzles. Dr. Disaster I love how they used humour and get you to use all your senses.

Second Telling- Newtown

The White Rose.... really great beautifully made hand made puzzles. With an actor who makes it a little bit extra special.

The Enigma room is also good - I recommend 4 max. I didn't like it as much as their first room.

Xcape rooms

Sydney

They have put a LOT of money into their rooms - some of the production is amazing.

There are lots of "Oh Wow" moments and fun things to do.

They do need to add more puzzles though, to keep the whole group busy. Sometimes if you have too many people there is not enough to do.

Scram in Parramatta The Wizard Chambers was ok. I went with a girl from Brisbane and she loved it.. she's done all of the rooms in Brisbane and said it was better than all of them. I thought it had some cute things and the theme was pretty good but not a great room.

Sydney Hunt has got some fun things in it and I love how their secret doors are very well hidden.

Solid Rooms

Paniq in the Rocks

Senses is quite a good room. Good theming and some great puzzles.

I didn't like Military Bunker so much.

Next Level is pretty good but I think their quality in some places could improve.

Social Escape Rooms Sydney is quite good.

Break the Code has some fun rooms... their decor is a little tacky and some people complain about various things but overall I had fun... Da vinci and The Temple are their best rooms

CT adventure is similar to Break the Code.... fun rooms, a little tacky but really good theming mostly.

Not really worth doing

The Maze

Canberra

There are three companies in Canberra. Australia's Capital Territory (ACT)

1# Escape rooms Canberra

Was fantastic.. as of 2021 they have 2 rooms with more to come. The Vault was really incredible, novel.

2#Riddle Room

Excellent production

I liked 3 out of 4 of their rooms.. I did not like the Nightmare

3#Revelation Rooms

are only worth doing if you are a beginner

if you have experienced a LOT of rooms

I highly recommend skipping these rooms

Canberra

Tasmania

So far there is only one Escape room company which is in Hobart

They have 3 rooms and are working on opening more

I loved ALL of their rooms -cute, fun, one puzzle I'm particular I remember to this day with fondness... it has to do with books

I will go to Tassie again just to do the rest.

Go to MONA museum while you are there !
